TSA: 3 people in 2 hours brought guns to security checkpoint

TSA agents say within two hours they discovered three people trying to take guns through the security checkpoint at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

Officers arrested three people, including an executive administrator with Atlanta-based Chick-Fil-A. It’s why the agency is once again urging passengers to check their bags before coming to the airport.

It began Monday when agents said around 10:45 a.m. they discovered a .380 handgun in Sheryl Rexrode’s carry-on as she went through security. The Chick-Fil-A executive was arrested.

Then at noon, police arrested Derek Morgan after they said he tried to take a loaded .32 caliber handgun through a checkpoint. Morgan’s father said he forgot the gun was in his bag.

Less than an hour later, officers said Wendy Parker tried to take a .380 handgun through a checkpoint in her bag.

Parker’s attorney said she didn’t know it was in there.
