Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley confirmed through Twitter that Remington Arms is expanding in the city of Huntsville in the state.

“Remington will expand to the old Chrysler building in Huntsville & create over 2,000 new jobs within the next ten years,” a tweet from Bentley’s account said.

New York officials prior to this official announcement, continued to reassure that jobs would remain at the gun manufacturer’s Ilion plant.

State Gov. Andrew Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi Monday reaffirmed a previous remark on Twitter assuring the public that jobs aren’t leaving the area.

“Some are misinformed, others gleefully spreading misinformation, but to be clear, no Remington jobs are leaving NY,” the Saturday night tweet read.
