A California congressional candidate robo-called residents of Los Angeles suburbs, urging them to “protect our gun rights” one day after Elliot Rodger went on a murderous rampage nearby.

“Protect our gun rights, vote for Tony Strickland for Congress,” the call from his campaign said.

“Tony . . . will continue to oppose, and actively fight, any legislation that would take away our Second Amendment right to bear arms.”
