The organization Mayors Against Illegal Guns helped put on a rally outside Senator Max Baucus’ office on Wednesday, calling on him to support background checks on all commercial gun sales.

The organization delivered several backpacks to the senators office to remind the senator that schools are back in session and it has been nine months since the Sandy Hook tragedy and no new gun legislation has passed through congress.

Those gathered urged Senator Baucus to push Congress to help pass new laws to prevent future tragedies.

Robert Waters, gun owner, said, “We would like to see Senator Baucus do the right, the responsible and moral thing and support that legislation. And recognize that, I think, the majority of Montanans support background checks, expanding background checks, and that includes gun owners like myself and gun owners like most of my friends.”
