Obama reelected — now what?

by American Firearms Review  |  published on November 7, 2012

Last night, President Barack Obama was elected to a second term.

For those who care about the Second Amendment, it’s hard to cast this in a positive light. This was, as NRA President Wayne LaPierre warned, the most dangerous election of our lifetime. We’re dealing with a man who fundamentally doesn’t believe in Americans’ Second Amendment right to bear arms; the most anti-gun president in our history. His administration was willing to exploit the botched Fast and Furious operation, which led to the death of a Border Patrol agent and several Mexicans, to gin up support for more gun control.

Gun owners — and all those who respect the Second Amendment — must stay alert during Obama’s next term. He’ll never introduce a bill to outright ban guns. But he will work behind the scenes and use executive power to tighten gun regulations as much as possible. We need to make sure we keep a close eye on what he’s doing.
