Milwaukee shooting

Anti-gun nuts seizing on Wisconsin tragedy

by American Firearms Review  |  published on June 29, 2012

The recent shooting rampage at a spa in Milwaukee, Wisc., in which seven were shot and three were killed, should provide an opportunity for reflection and prayer. Instead, several gun grabbers are already trying to exploit what happened:

Prompted by the fatal shooting rampage at a suburban Milwaukee spa, two state lawmakers are pushing legislation to tighten enforcement of gun rules in domestic violence cases.

But it’s unlikely their proposed changes would have prevented 45-year-old Radcliffe Haughton from buying a handgun just two days after his estranged wife obtained a restraining order against him. He used the gun to shoot seven women at the spa, killing his wife and two others, before fatally shooting himself. (Emphasis added.)

As the Greenbay Press Gazette points out, no laws were broken in Haughton’s firearm purchase. The dealer selling the gun passed the background check and complied with the waiting period.

But never expect the facts to stop the left from demanding more gun control.
