The best new state for gun rights in America

by American Firearms Review  |  published on June 26, 2012

More on that proposed amendment in Louisiana which will force all new gun laws to undergo immediate judicial review. State Senator Neil Riser says the process will make his state the envy of freedom-lovers across America:

Riser acknowledges that the new standard is more in favor of gun possession and all the other rights outlined in the bill, but that is the point.

“We’d have the strongest Second Amendment law in the nation if we passed this,” he said.

And that’s exactly the point. If this goes through, the Second Amendment will be properly enforced in Louisiana. If someone wants to pass a gun control law, the onus is on them to show that it doesn’t violate the Constitution, not the other way around. Louisiana’s amendment would codify that bit of common sense. Let’s hope the other 49 states eventually follow suit.
