Latest in Guns Revealed at SHOT Show

Gun sales are as hot as ever, according to new statistics. And now the firearms industry is unveiling the newest items and innovations to expect for the year ahead. The SHOT Show in Las Vegas, the largest gun industry trade show in the nation, wrapped up last week with a host of new offerings set to hit local gun sellers around the country.

Patrick Woods from Spring Guns & Ammo attended the SHOT Show and shared some of the highlights with KTRH. One of the biggest innovations he saw was lighter-weight long guns. “There’s a lot of new rails out that are much, much lighter, that still provide the modularity that people are looking for in an AR-15, and are still incredibly durable and rigid,” says Woods. There’s even a “starter AR” for those on a budget. “There are more and more people who are interested in tactical or sports shooting, but who don’t have the $1,200 or $1,500 or $1,700 budget,” says Woods. “And there’s been a lot of great options produced that I’ve seen this year.” One of those starter AR options is the Expanse M4 from Colt, expected to retail for about $699.
