Stonewall Gun Shop

The place was packed. Thursday was a busy day at the Stonewall Gun Shop in Broadview Heights. It has been busy since debate and talk of possibly banning certain weapons like the one used in the Newtown, Conn. school shooting spree.

“It’s (AR-15 rifle) been going quite fast out of every store since this unfortunate incident,” said Stonewall owner Diane Donnett.

Donnett said the AR-15 is not an assault weapon and is not an automatic. Automatic weapons fire continuously with one pull of the trigger. Semi-automatics fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.

“Every time you tell a U.S. citizen they can’t have something or it’s going to be banned they rush out to buy it,” Donnett said.

Donnett said disturbed gunmen target defenseless people in no gun zones like schools.

“They’re aiming for gun free zones where they know nobody is going to shoot back,” Donnett said.
