Sen. Pryor fires back at Bloomberg in first campaign ad of 2014 re-election effort

Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas fired back Thursday night at New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s campaign against lawmakers like himself who helped shoot down tighter gun control laws.

In the first ad of his 2014 re-election campaign, Mr. Pryor derides Mayors Against Illegal Guns, an ad advocacy group with Mr. Bloomberg as chairman, for “running ads against me because I opposed President Obama’s gun control legislation.”

“Nothing in the Obama plan would have prevented the tragedies like Newtown, Aurora, Tucson or even Jonesboro,” Mr. Pryor says in the 30-second spot. “I am committed to finding real solutions to gun violence, while protecting our Second Amendment rights.”
